Letur, the water town in the Sierra de Segura, has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
Its attractive landscape, as well as its Arab-medieval layout and its mostly Gothic-style church of Santa María, declared a Cultural Interest Asset in 1982, make Letur considered one of the most beautiful places in Albacete, the Sierra de Segura, and the whole country.
It has a charming historic centre for strolling through the beautiful, narrow, and twisting alleys in search of the town church, the viewpoints, the old arches or the entrance doors to the city and other points of great beauty.
Letur is famous for being the town of water. Wherever you walk, you can always hear the murmur of its fountains and streams, with spectacular pools, waterfalls and natural pools where you can enjoy a swim and is a spectacular setting for a hike. A visit to the natural pool in the historic centre, Charco de los Canales, is essential.
It boasts incredible viewpoints over the Sierra del Segura, a water source called “Charco Pataco” which is a true oasis of vegetation, and also one of the most famous waterfalls in Albacete, the Letur Waterfall.
In recent years, Letur has been gaining even more notoriety due to the LeturAlma festival promoted by the singer Rozalén, who hails from this town.
It is the perfect town to visit for a day or to spend a weekend as it is full of tourist attractions to enjoy.
